After charting social networking sign-up trends from 2009 onwards, the analysts forecasted 13.2 million more individuals in the USA will join a social network during 2011; meaning 147.9 million people (or 63.7 per cent of the states’ web users) will be signed-up social networker by 2011. Nevertheless, only 10 million more users are expected to sign-up in 2012, while only 6.4 million more people will sign-up in 2013 – prompting analysts to speculate that social networks will need to make a lot more effort to engage with users.
Google’s Android OS has taken over Apple as the UK’s most popular smart phone platform with a 28 percent slice of the market. The survey, conducted by YouGov for Intelligent Environments, talked to 2,001 people and reported that 28 per cent of smart phone users use Android, 26 per cent use Apple’s iOS and 14 per cent use Blackberry’s native OS.

If you view the complete browser usage across the web, Firefox 4 is advancing forward of IE9 declaring 1.7% of the browser market share while IE9 claims 1.07%. Statistics, however, confirm a overwhelming preference for Firefox 4., IE9 slowly struggles to keep up the numbers with 1.52% of the market users ,while FF4 storms ahead of the market with 8.33% overall users.
